Staff Code of Conduct
All Academy Staff must read and adhere to this Code.
This Code of Conduct is intended to regulate the behaviour of all staff accompanying teams during their participation in the Little League TT. Failure on the part of the member of staff to adhere to this Code shall result in penalties, including but not limited to suspension from future Little League TT games and removal from the roster.

We engage our children in sport first and foremost to build their character. In order to do this, we focus on Six Pillars of Character and model our conduct in a way that fosters an environment that these traits:

As Academy Staff, I agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:
Obligations towards the game

I will remember that as coach, I am responsible for not only my own behaviour but also the behaviour of my team members, their parents, and any spectators connected to my team.

I will never use foul or abusive language towards players, parents, other academy staff, referees or competition officials.

I will keep appropriate records of player attendance, tardiness, performance, injuries and attitude during training, games and at camp.

I will be aware and understand my role and influence as an educator, imparting knowledge of skill as well as proper personal, academic, and social behaviour.

I will never harass, whether emotionally, verbally or sexually, any players on my team or on any opposing team.

I will be committed to staying updated on the latest best practices for coaching this age group and take into account the age-specific principles of growth and development of my players.

I will not endorse or promote the use of alcohol, tobacco or any illegal substance by and among players.

I will ensure that I do not knowingly administer or caused to be administered any performance enhancing or age-inappropriate product to any player.

I will ensure that complaints made are kept confidential and are dealt with in a fair and timely manner.

I will never conduct myself in such a manner which is likely to bring about criminal prosecution.

I will not comment publicly on controversial matters relating to team performance, players and selection without the permission of the TTFA.

I will abide by all applicable TTFA, CONCACAF and FIFA rules and regulations.
Obligations towards other players on my team

I will treat each player as an individual, remembering the large range of differences in emotional and physical development for the same age group.

I will place the safety and welfare of the players over my personal desire to win.

I will show no open favouritism towards specific players.

I will not tolerate any bullying, inappropriate behaviour or language from players, regardless of the situation.

I will keep sport in proper perspective with player’s academic education.

I will remember that I am a youth sports coach, and that the game is for the children and not the adults.

I will do my best to give all field players roughly equal amounts as all other field players in every scheduled game, as long as they attend training regularly and they and their parents are in adherence to the respective code of conduct.

I will attempt to develop every player to his/her full potential while inculcating the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.

I will direct players to seek proper medical attention for injuries and at no time should a player be put at risk by returning from injury prematurely or by being forced to play while injured.

I will be appropriately attired when performing my duties.

I will ensure that all players and equipment are always accounted for.

I will ensure that equipment and facilities meet safety standards and are appropriate for the level and age of the players.

I will be reasonable in my demands on players' time, energy and enthusiasm.

I will ensure that players are trained, housed, transported and play in a safe environment.

I will ensure that I am punctual and regular for all training sessions, team meetings, technical staff meetings as well as other meeting that may be called by the TTFA or Technical Director.
Respect for the laws of the game and competition rules

I will familiarize myself with all the rules of the game as well as competition regulations and ensure that players entrusted in my care are also aware of those rules and regulations.

I will not engage or promote unofficial betting on football matches in which the TTFA is likely to have an interest.

I will report any inducement to match fixing.
Respect towards referees and team officials

I will accept the decision of the referee as final during the game. In this regard I will not use abusive language, signs or show public dissent in relation to the decisions of the officials.

I will avoid any action that may mislead the referee/officials.

I will refrain from slandering any referee at any time and will ensure respectful communication with all game officials.
