Parent Code of Conduct
All parents and spectators must read and adhere to this Code.
This Code of Conduct is intended to regulate the behaviour of all parents whose children train at the Academy. Failure on the part of the Parent to adhere to this Code shall result in penalties, including but not limited to suspension of spectator rights at future games or practices, suspension of my child’s right to play in future Little League TT games. This shall include any relatives and/or friends of parents attending any academy events.

We engage our children in sport first and foremost to build their character. In order to do this, we focus on Six Pillars of Character and model our conduct in a way that fosters an environment that these traits:

As a Parent of a Player participating in the Little League TT, I agree to abide by the following Code of Conduct:

I will not force my child to participate in sports.

I will do my best to make youth sports fun for my child and remember that the game is for the children, not adults.

I will encourage and support my child’s experience and play on the field and praise my child for playing fairly, encouraging other players, giving a good effort and improving in big and small ways.

I will teach my child the rules of the games and encourage my child to abide by them and resolve any conflicts without the use of violence or aggression.

I will teach my child that their effort is more important than the outcome of the game so that they never feel discouraged or defeated in sports.

I will not encourage or promote any behaviours that might endanger the health and wellbeing of the players.

I (and my guests) will encourage good sportsmanship and self-discipline by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, managers and officials at every game, practice through example.

I will refrain from any unsportsmanlike conduct like booing, teasing, refusing to shake hands, hostility, condescending remarks, course or inappropriate language or gestures.

I will use language that focuses on skills development and progress and the benefits of those over winning and will de-emphasize games and competitions in the lower age groups.

I will place far greater priority on the well-being and health of the players than on my own desire for my child to win or compete well against others.

I will learn the laws of the game and the policies of the league.

I will respect officials and accept their decisions and authority, and will not question or argue with officials or coaches during games and will bring any issues to the coach privately at an agreed upon time and location.

I will support a sports environment for my child that is free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol, and abusive language, and I will refrain from their use at all youth sports.

I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of their race, sex, creed or ability.

I will refrain from coaching my child or other players during practice or games, unless I am part of the official coaching staff of the team.

In the event I feel the need to discuss a situation regarding my child, I understand the proper communication chain is to raise the issue directly with the Coach first.

In the event I am deemed to have broken this Code of Conduct, I understand that the academy may levy penalties, including, but not limited to, suspension of spectator rights at future games or practices, suspension of my child’s right to play in future games or practice with the team, or dismissal from academy. This shall include any relatives and/or friends of parents attending any academy events.
